The Flying Nun, 16 Station Street, Samford Village, QLD 4520, Ph 07 32892288

This place has a bohemian yet cozy feel to it. Outside are Buddhist statues;dotted amongst the tree covered courtyard/terrace area which winds around the old uniting church, complete with original stained glass windows

4/5 for atmosphere

The food was great when I visited. There is an amazing array of gluten-free cakes in the cabinet, but it was brunch time so I opted for the eggs benedict with bacon. The eggs were poached to perfection, with the hollandaise sauce being just the right consistency and the overall presentation was beautiful. The coffee was amazingly smooth and creamy too. The menus are very comprehensive and the relevant options have GF or PGF (possibly Gluten Free) next to them. Plus the choice for such dietary options is huge - so you are sure to get something delicious and to your liking...the only downside was that my toast was a bit burnt

17/20 for food

The staff were friendly and helpful, but you need to order at the counter

8/10 for staff

Both the brunch and lunch menus offered pretty good value, compared to other cafes/restaurants

8/10 for value

Despite quite busy, the tables were cleared after customers left but crumbs remained

3/5 for cleanliness

TOTAL SCORE: 40/50 or 80% The Flying Nun on Urbanspoon
