Vege Rama, Myer Centre Food Court Shop 054b Lvl E 91 Queen St, Brisbane, QLD 4000 , Ph: 0730128586

Date of Review: 23 September 2013

Fresh, flavour-filled food bursting with essential vitamins and minerals. Vege Rama offers a new insight into how healthy food can be irresistibly tasty. Vegetarian with a multitude of clearly displayed gluten free, fructose free (marked with an asterisk) and vegan options, Vege Rama has proven very popular, judging by the number of repeat customers (myself included!) and the queues out front. So popular that another Vege Rama has now opened up on Adelaide Street in Brisbane CBD too!  As there is no specific seating at either joint (Vege Rama is more of a takeaway bar than a restaurant), the interior is fresh and bright and the dishes are beautifully presented.

Atmosphere:  3/5

Inside the glass cabinet is a selection of mouth-watering salads – each with its own unique dressing. There are also raw cakes, slices and yoghurt for the sweet tooth. While the curries change daily (several of which are gluten free), my all time favourite is the palak paneer. Vege Rama always serves gluten free potato bake, dahl,  taquitos, and dosa as an easy and cheaper lunch option. I can honestly say that everything I’ve tasted from Vege Rama has been delicious and outstanding. From the refreshing juices and salads to the delicious hot curries, Vege Rama is a gluten free girl’s dream.

Food: 20/20

In addition the staff are always super friendly and helpful and although the prices have recently increased, Vege Rama is still an affordable lunch option. I eat there most days!

Value: 4/5

TOTAL SCORE: 27/30 or 90%
dosa, gluten free, vegetarian
